BLONDIE : RAPTURE : Who wrote the lyrics to the RAP that Blondie did in the song rapture? I am curious. Was Blondie Freestyling when she did Rapture? It almost sounds like she was making it up on the spot. If not, then I would like to know who was the Mastermind behind those CRAZY lyrics? I will always remember the man from mars who was eating cars. |
| Blondie members Chris Stein and Debbie Harry wrote Rapture. Chris always wanted to do a rap song, so they wrote one. Rapture was the first rap single to reach number one in the US. They are pretty crazy lyrics, but I think that makes the song amazing and unique. |
What year did gerado sing rico suave and then what year did blondie sing rapture? well... i heard a little old song on 80''s on 8 in my car (my Mercedes benz comes with Sirius and that's what we listen to on it).anyway i loved those songs and cant remember what year they came out in (can you help me out!?) |
| try Googling it? |
Who does the cover of Blondie's Rapture that appears on the Ultimate Fighter Countdown: Rashad vs Rampage ? there is a cover of Blondie's song Rapture in the first part of the show, as the show introduces Rampage, and the Wolfslair Gym he trains at in England. |
| Someone else asked the same question on yahoo and it was answered. It is Step Into A World, by KRS-One. It is using the melody, but not technically a "cover". |
What are the actual lyrics to "Rapture" by Blondie? I swear every site says something different.
I mainly am looking for the French line in the rap but the whole thing will do as well. |
"Rapture"
Toe to toe
Dancing very close
Barely breathing
Almost comatose
Wall to wall
People hypnotised
And they're stepping lightly
Hang each night in Rapture
Back to back
Sacrailiac
Spineless movement
And a wild attack
Face to face
Sadly solitude
And it's finger popping
Twenty-four hour shopping in Rapture
Fab Five Freddie told me everybody's high
DJ's spinnin' are savin' my mind
Flash is fast, Flash is cool
Francois sez fas, Flashe' no do
And you don't stop, sure shot
Go out to the parking lot
And you get in your car and you drive real far
And you drive all night and then you see a light
And it comes right down and lands on the ground
And out comes a man from Mars
And you try to run but he's got a gun
And he shoots you dead and he eats your head
And then you're in the man from Mars
You go out at night, eatin' cars
You eat Cadillacs, Lincolns too
Mercuries and Subarus
And you don't stop, you keep on eatin' cars
Then, when there's no more cars
You go out at night and eat up bars where the people meet
Face to face, dance cheek to cheek
One to one, man to man
Dance toe to toe
Don't move too slow, 'cause the man from Mars
Is through with cars, he's eatin' bars
Yeah, wall to wall, door to door, hall to hall
He's gonna eat 'em all
Rapture, be pure
Take a tour, through the sewer
Don't strain your brain, paint a train
You'll be singin' in the rain
I said don't stop, do punk rock
Well now you see what you wanna be
Just have your party on TV
'Cause the man from Mars won't eat up bars when the TV's on
And now he's gone back up to space
Where he won't have a hassle with the human race
And you hip-hop, and you don't stop
Just blast off, sure shot
'Cause the man from Mars stopped eatin' cars and eatin' bars
And now he only eats guitars, get up! |
What is the name of the reggaeton artist who samples the song "Rapture" from Blondie? What is the name of the reggaeton artist who samples the song "Rapture" from Blondie? He has a girl singing the hooks in the backround. If you seen the video, it takes place in the desert and the girl singing is dressed like a Belly Dancer. |
I can't find a YouTube video for them, but there's:
Won-G's "Caught In A Rapture" featuring Paris Hilton and Gizelle
KRS-One's "Step Into A World (Rapture's Delight)" featuring Keva
Glamma Kid's "Bills 2 Pay" |
Is it a sin that when I was little, I thought that "The Rapture" referred to that song, "Rapture" by Blondie? You know this wonderful song:
www.dailymotion.com/video/x2k6ym_…
I'm not being a troll either! I seriously did think that. |
| No, not a sin. If you heard "Take The Money & Run" and actually did it. It would be a sin. |
Is the Christian rapture the same rapture that Blondie sings about? ? Where the man from Mars will eat up bars and cars? |
| yes, but thankfully around the last minute of the song, he only eats Guitars. |
Was Blondie's RAPTURE the very first Rap song? What were the roots of rap? Was Debbie Harry just ahead of her time? I think there were some other songs during the disco era that were rappy...And Hank Williams used to do a lot of rap style stuff.
Any music historians want to take a crack at this one? |
